Happy Sunday, !!
I’m going to start with a statement that might seem pretty obvious…
Humans thrive on systems and routines.
I know, I know, *cue the eye roll*
Adults, kids, and every age in-between just do better when they have an idea of how each day is going to flow.
While it may sound like you’re trying to establish a dictatorship, having routine, structure, and systems in place in your household and your life, can provide an anchor of expectations for everyone in your household.
Plus, it gives everyone in the family a sense of purpose around how they contribute and it
takes a lot of the chores, responsibilities, planning, and delegation off of your plate.
Win, win, win,!
If you’re not sure where to start, I usually suggest starting with the Daily 7 - seven daily chores that can help create a highly successful and smoothly running household.
The Daily 7 chores and tasks include…
- Make beds right away
- Do one full load of laundry
- Empty all garbage cans
- Keep the
kitchen sink empty
- Clean up after yourself (and help your kids do the same!)
- Wipe down the bathrooms
- Spend10 minutes cleaning up before bed
I can pretty much guarantee that knowing these seven chores are getting done daily (with the help of the other members of your household!) will help you start feeling calmer and more at ease.
You’ll have more space and energy to dedicate to other daily tasks and commitments.
And most importantly, you’ll have the energy to be present in life’s joyful moments and experiences (without resenting everyone else in the family in
the process).
With the Daily 7 taken care of, you can start to think about other systems you can integrate into your
life.
As always, I recommend starting where you
are.
Dedicate a chunk of time one morning to
take an inventory of your daily activities.
- What do you spend most of
your time doing?
- Where do you feel most of your energy is going?
- What feels draining and what feels energizing?
- What do you want to make more time for in your life?
Once you have answers to these questions, you can start creating and implementing systems. And remember, we aren’t looking for strict routines and schedules here - we’re looking for an approach for you that is sustainable.
Stay open and curious about trying out new schedules and new ways of handling or delegating tasks. You should also be open to switching out the things that aren’t working and trying something different!
If this sounds like something you want to do, but feel overwhelmed by how to do it - I’m here to support you, !
You never have to move through challenges alone :-)

I’m proud of you,
I think you are wonderful,
And I’m so happy you’re here,
Until next week!
