Hi there, !
It’s another slow Sunday morning and you’re probably about to get ready to make breakfast, and get the family ready for an afternoon full of social
activities, errands, and chores.
As the day goes on, you feel a weight in the pit of your stomach, and maybe some anxious feelings knowing that your weekend is coming to an end.
That’s when they hit…
The Sunday Scaries.
As your weekend draws to a close you start to focus on how much you didn’t get done and all of the tasks that will start to pile up again come Monday.
A week full of work, after-school activities, random errands, meals to cook, shopping to be done, things to be cleaned, appointments to not forget…
Kind of a lot, huh?
You try and pull together a mental to-do list and it just leaves you feeling exhausted and overwhelmed before your week has even begun.
I totally get it, , and it’s a huge reason why I lean into slower living and why I want to share the gifts that it brought into my life with you.
I don’t want you to feel any kind of anxiety or dread on any day of the week, let alone on the one day a week that is specifically meant for resting and resetting before a new week begins.
Your needs, your energy, and your happiness are just as important as everyone and everything else you prioritize.
Read that again and again,.
If this feels hard for you, check-in and see what you can set aside, where you can ask for help, and what tasks you can delegate or outsource so that you have more time for the people and activities that bring you joy.
Here are a few questions you may want to gently ask yourself…
- Are you saying yes to too many things?
- What are some things that are draining you instead of filling your cup that you can say no to?
- How can you create more moments to care for yourself that take 5 minutes or less?
Maybe you can chat on the phone with a friend while the kids are at their activities.
Or listen to a favorite podcast while gardening or folding laundry.
When you’ve got long work days, prioritize setting a timer so you can also schedule in time to take a break, move your body, or do a little something that brings you joy!
Take care of yourself before jumping in to taking care of others, which I know you’re probably already really great at doing.
You deserve it, . Take care of yourself.
Wishing you the HAPPIEST Sunday :-)
xoxo steph
