Happy Labor Day Sunday, !!
I’ve gotta be honest with you.
This whole transition from summer to back to school is chaotic, overwhelming, and can sometimes disrupt my OWN practice and intention of slowing down.
During this time of year, it’s really easy for me to go into OVERdrive - overthinking, overplanning, over preparing, and overextending
myself in every way possible.
What’s worse, is that I know this kind of momentum isn’t sustainable.
It’s a speed and lifestyle that has often left me feeling burnt out, exhausted, and resentful of the people that I love most. Until eventually,
it convinced me to find ways to slow down.
To let go of the things that were stressing me out and
weighing me down.
Until little by little, I started letting go of the things that felt like
excess—the low hanging fruit that I could easily pick off.
- Letting my trusty
crockpot slow cooker do the work for me so that the "work" part of dinner was taken care of early in the morning when I was still caffeinated and coherent.
- Creating a chore list that everyone in the house could contribute to, so that I wasn’t the only one doing the work.
- Going for walks with zero plan or directions. Just simply going for a walk to let go of plans, schedules, productivity, and trading in the need to be DOING to just BEING.
We’ve become so used to Hustle Culture, but the reality is that it isn’t sustainable and it’s not an accurate measure of your success
or worthiness, either,.
What it is…
...is exhausting.
And no one wants to live life feeling as if they are behind or aren't doing enough.
You deserve a calm, joyful, and fulfilling life and that is my biggest wish for you.
All of the books I written and the free masterclass I recorded and all of the Slow
Living podcast episodes along with my coaching and the Simple Shortcuts to Peace course were created specifically to help you live
out a Slower, Calmer, and More Peaceful life.
If we are lucky, life is long. I want you to enjoy every bitty bit of it.
Have a great long weekend, an even better week, and I'll see you next Sunday!
xoxo steph
