It always feels so off and uncomfortable to type out September 11.
I hope wherever you are today, you are okay and take a few moments to acknowledge how wonderful you are and how much strength you have.
September 11 started my love/hate and now mostly ignore relationship with TV news. Growing up, I thought "good americans" watched the morning news, the noon news, and the evening news, and then if they were REALLY GOOD they also watched the 11 o'clock news.
And then Sept 11 happened and I, became glued to the tv and didn't turn it off for well over 24 hrs.
and ended up in the ER with pre-term labor with my first.
She's FINE, and the midwives were able to stop the contractions, but I was chastised for continuing to watch the non-stop footage from my hospital room.
I had no idea that watching horrible things over,
and over again, on loop, was bad for both my mental and physical health.
The first step in living a Slow Life that I talk about in the podcast and have outlined in the Slow Down & Simplify ebook is to declutter the things in your life that no longer serve you.
My hope and wish for you is that you start putting some
boundaries up. If you are doing things you don't want to do, if you are interacting with people who aren't good for your brain & and your body, if your home is too hard to clean because there are too many things --
purge.
It's not worth it to sacrifice your health or your sanity.
and ironically, you may find a newfound spring in your step and a bunch of productive energy if you do take the time to Slow Down and
prioritize the things that are working and get rid of the stuff that isn't.
Have a lovely and wonderful Sunday. Consider yourself loved and hugged.
