Â
Happy Friday, Slow Cookerers!!
Â
I hope you are doing well today, and I want to thank you for being here. 💗 💗
Â
There have been quite a few
new subscribers and I just want toÂ
1) tell you I think you're awesomeÂ
andÂ
2) explain JUST HOW WONDERFUL the crockpot is.
Â
For me, the crockpot is a tool that I can boss around and put to work
so I DON'T HAVE TO.
Â
😉
Â
really. That's what it's all about *for me* -- I'm not a foodie, really. I'm much older now (because unfortunately that's how time, the universe, and everything works -- ;-) ) so I have MUCH MORE TIME now than I used to when I had babies in the  house --
Â
so now I can walk to the butcher and pick out magical meat and saute or broil to perfection --- ;-)
Â
but when my kids were little?
Â
nope. Cooking was a chore. I needed to feed them (somewhat) healthy food in an efficient
way and then get on with it.
Â
The crockpot was a lifesaver to me.
Â
I'm a morning person, so I could plug it in while still wide awake, caffeinated and coherent, and go on with my day.
Â
Dinner cooked
itself.
Â
And so THAT's why I fell (madly!) in love with my crockpot(s)!
Â
and why I think you should too. 😉
Â
If you are brand new to the slow cooking game --
start simple.
Â
Do Taco Soup.
Rotisserie Chicken.
Pulled Pork.
Lentil and Kale Casserole.
Â
begin to embrace Utilizing Leftovers to make brand! new! recipes!
😉
Â
Yes. You CAN make Tamales -- but in real life that's not a Wednesday night dinner. 😉
Â
Try not to over-complicate things. If you are feeding a growing family, it is A-Okay to eat the same things on
rotation.
Â
As I've grown and evolved and my children have gone off to college, I became interested in other things, which is why I started the Slow Living Podcast and began writing other things and branching out into other ways of teaching.
Â
but I'm still here, and I'm still Steph, and I still love my crockpot(s).Â
