Hi there, Slow Cookerers!!
Fall must be right around the corner, because I'm getting a bunch (ha! bunch! like in a BUNCH of apples...)
;-)
of emails from readers who need to do something with all their apples.
No problem!! Toss them into your slow cooker!

Baked Apples are super easy and a fun way to use up a bunch of apples that might not be "just perfect" --- you can customized them however you'd like --
cooking them in the slow cooker means that they are hot and ready to go, when you
are!
If you have super sweet apples you can probably get away with none at all. The vanilla is the "secret" ingredient, here!
My mom also uses this recipe to make Pear Sauce -- and doesn't add a drop of sugar!
:-) If you're looking for a dark and rich Apple Butter -- this one is crazy good with the
perfect amount of cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla.
I put it on toast in the morning with a bit of peanut butter -- the combination together is fantastic. I really love this stuff!!
This recipe only cooks for an hour or so -- it's not an overnight cook -- but if you do a touch of leg work the night before you can flip the crockpot on to cook while you take a shower, get ready for work, etc.
I've had readers tell me that they go to the gym super
early in the morning and come home happy that they have a hearty and healthy meal waiting for them!
This could be dessert, I suppose it could be a breakfast too, or an afterschool or latenight snack. To me, this is like a delicious tart apple pie filling, but without the crust.
Feel free to top with whipped
cream!! :-)
Alrighty! Enjoy your apples, enjoy your day, and happy Slow Cooking!!
