Hello there, Slow Cookerers!!

Let's talk Dessert.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Sometimes I'm asked why I'd bother to make dessert in the crockpot. Wouldn't it be faster if I just baked the cake, or cooked the pudding on the stovetop?

Why yes, yes it would! :-)

I like to make dessert in the slow cooker because that way I can put it on while we are eating dinner, entertaining company, and just enjoying ourselves so it can cook slowly and be hot and ready when WE are.

Also, the smell of some sort of apple something or other while slow cooked is pretty much the best smell in the world. :-)

I hope you enjoy them!!

have a great day, steph

Bonus Apple Sauce recipe from 5 Ingredients or Less Slow Cooker Cookbook:

;-)

Candied Applesauce
serves 6 to 8

8 to 10 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 lemon, juiced, (approx 1 tablespoon)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
1/2 cup Red Hot candies

Use a 6-quart slow cooker.
Place apple pieces into your slow cooker. Add lemon juice, vanilla, and brown sugar.
Toss in the Red Hot Candies.

Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, or on high for about 2.5 hours.
When apples are tender, mash with a potato masher or fork.

Serve warm or chilled with a dollop of whipped cream.

The Red Hot candies provide a beautiful color and a touch of cinnamon goodness.
