Freezer Meal Club?

Happy Friday!!

I hope you are doing well. This is not an email with a recipe -- that's on the way!

:-)

As many of you know, I am very into Time Saving activities, which is why I love my crockpot so much.

I love the feeling that I got a piece of my "work load" over and done with early in the morning so I can get on with my day without worrying about dinner.

Also? the food tastes great, too!

:-)

I also LOVE having a fully stocked freezer. I haven't always been the best in the past about cooking ahead and freezer stocking, but I'm getting better.

Many of you have written in to me asking about Freezer Meal Clubs --

and I didn't have a resource to share with you until now.

My friend Amylee has developed a resource for Starting and Maintaining Your Very Own Freezer Meal Club.

and I think it's pretty awesome.

It's so awesome that I wrote the forward.

:-)

SO.

If you have ever thought that it would be fun and beneficial to start or join a Freezer Meal Club you should really check this out.

AND. In case you are wondering What The Heck a Freezer Meal Club even is, anyway...

It's this:

a group of people, working together, to help stock your collective freezers. Many times volunteer organizations, church groups, parenting groups, etc.
like to help those in need, or simply help each other.

Amylee has outlined all the different ways Freezer Meal Clubs can work -- a swap, an assembly-line, etc.

She also has formatted spreadsheets for figuring out the grocery list.

Amylee calls herself "the Productive Mama" so the sign-up sheet has the word "mama" in it.
Don't let that hold you back. If you think that learning how to cook in bulk to help stock your freezer or to make meals to give to others would be of benefit, then I encourage you to learn.

I love the idea of helping someone down on their luck with what Amylee calls a "blessing meal."

I am not recommending this to you because I am getting paid to do so. I just really think this is a cool thing that might be helpful to you and it's not something that I personally know about.

I hope you find it useful!

Freezer meal clubs do NOT have to meet for hours to prep meals together.  They do not have to be full of canned soup, pre shredded cheese or anything you consider unhealthy.

They CAN be paleo, primal, vegan, dairy-free, allergy-friendly and even picky eater friendly.  They CAN be super flexible to fit your busy life.

And they CAN help you bless your community with almost no extra effort by sharing blessing portions with others.

I'll be back in your inbox in a little bit with today's recipe!
